Capturing the Heart and Soul of vintage Instruments

dmoox Demo 1
dmoox Demo 2

Welcome to the sound of dmoox, capturing the heart and soul of vintage instruments.

dmoox is a sampled instrument. It uses pre-recorded audio clips to generate sounds. Is neither a virtual synth nor a plugin. dmoox benefits from the extensive script programming of Kontakt - the world leading software sampler, bringing you an enhanced experience in music making technology.

We looked back into our gear room to recreate the Midimoog by Studio Electronics, one of electronic music’s forgotten legends. We wanted to represent all its sonic magic into one single digital instrument for total recall at your finger tips. We have sampled every note of this analogue monster individually for approximately 4 seconds using high end converters, recording everything at 24bits. Once the sound was sorted we decided to give the user a more pleasant experience by crafting a truly unique 3D interface not yet seen in a product of this kind. Add to this 7 onboard effects, pitch envelope, arp and unison, then you begin to realize the truly powerful nature of this instrument.

This is how dmoox looks the first time you load a patch in Kontakt. The main page controls most parameters needed to sculpt your sounds or modify current patches from the library. Like on most synths of this kind, the sound diagram starts from left to right from the main oscillator controls to the mixer section, cut off, resonance, filter envelope and the amp stage. We recommend you become familiar with this section as this is the core of dmoox. This will enable you to get the most from your new synth module.

dmoox is divided in 3 pages:

  • Main -It contains the most common controls used on any synth: Oscillators, Mixer, Filters, Filter Envelope and Amplifier Envelope.

The second page of dmoox is where the sculpted sound can be taken to the next level. After creating your unique sound using the oscillators and filters it's time to polish them of with a wide range of tools. Nothing feels better than a touch of distortion on your bass sound, or bit reduction on a gritty lead. Use the STTool to widen your sounds or create more ambience with our carefully chosen impulse responses from the reverb module. We recommend you take time to experiment with different effect settings in order to discover new sonic boundaries.

  • Effects -It contains the most common controls used on any synth: Oscillators, Mixer, Filters, Filter Envelope and Amplifier Envelope.

On the last page of dmoox you will find additional controls for you to develop your sounds even further. We have catered for those who like sequences and decided to add an arpeggiator to help facilitate the creation of complex patterns with just a few notes held. Some other “Options” will grant you access to further expression while playing, such as: filter velocity, volume velocity and pitch bend. The pitch envelope also contributes to expression and can be very important especially crafting some genre “cliche” sounds. Lastly, our beloved LFO section, which takes control over the amp, filter and pitch modulation depending on the position of the switches of the dmoox Main Page.

dmoox is divided in 3 pages:

  • Arp/Options - This last page gives access to the expressive Arp Section, LFO, Pitch Envelope, Unison, Pitch Bend Range, Dynamic VCA and VFC.
